NEW PUBLICATION

Research

The primary focus of this laboratory is genome size research: the methodology of measurement, the variation of genome size and its biological significance, and the use of genome size data in plant systematics. Karyosystematic and cyto-embryological studies are also conducted.

Instruments available: Zeiss Axiophot epifluorescence microscope, several Zeiss Standard microscopes equipped with phase and Differential Interference Contrast optics, Cell Imaging and Retrieval System (CIRES) for image analysis and DNA content measurements, Partec CyFlow ML flow cytometer, MICRON high performance microtome, Reichert-Jung cryomicrotome.

Teaching

Lectures on "Fundamentals of karyosystematics", "Embryology and development (botany)", lab courses on karyosystematics, embryology, and contributions to the obligatory courses of the Institute.
